What Goes in the Firebox Decides the Rest

Softwood offcuts and painted or treated timber make it worse and add residues that do not belong in a domestic flue at all. Glazed creosote is the material behind most serious flue fires, and it accumulates fastest in exactly the households who believe they are burning economically.
