Air Duct Cleaning in Epping

Established brick homes in Epping and new estates stretching into Epping North and Wollert: we clean every outlet, the ductwork, the return air and the filter, with before and after photos.
Two Eppings, one dusty problem
Epping, in the City of Whittlesea, is really two places. The established streets are mostly brick homes from the 1970s and 80s. Further north, Epping North and Wollert are newer estates that are still being built out.
The older homes often run an original ducted gas heater that has never had its ducts cleaned. The newer ones are surrounded by construction, and the trucks and earthworks across the north keep a steady supply of fine dust in the air.
Across the newer estates the pattern is different: young homes, young families and systems that have only run for a handful of winters. The ducts there are usually less dirty than in the older streets, but the building dust from the houses still going up around them can catch owners by surprise.

How Epping homes are usually ducted
1970s and 80s brick homes
Ducted gas heating with floor or ceiling outlets, often the original system. A first clean after decades usually brings out a lot.
New estate homes
Ceiling outlets with flexible ducting in the roof, ducted heating plus refrigerated or evaporative cooling.
Units and townhouses
Compact systems with short runs, but the same build-up on the filter and outlets.
Three things we see a lot in Epping
Original heaters, original ducts
Plenty of older Epping homes still run the ducting they were built with. Decades of dust collect in the runs and around the outlets.
Trucks and earthworks
Major roads, freight traffic and new estates to the north keep fine dust in the air, which the return air draws in.
Renovations in older homes
Kitchen and bathroom renovations throw plaster dust into ducts that were left open during the work.
Signs an Epping home is due for a duct clean
- A heater older than the kids If the ducted system has been running since before the children were born and never been cleaned, it’s time.
- Plaster dust after a renovation If outlets weren’t covered during building work, renovation dust is likely sitting in the ducts.
- Dust on the floor below grilles Fine dust on the floor or skirting below an outlet is being blown out of the duct.
- A burnt smell when the heater starts Dust on the heat exchanger and in the ducts cooks off when the heater first fires each season.
Same duct. Same angle. One clean.

Duct repair & replacement in Epping
Original ducting in older Epping homes has had decades of trades working around it. Runs get crushed, outlets get pulled off their boots, and old duct tape lets go.
We photograph any damage we find while cleaning, explain what it means, and quote the fix before any work. Most problems are one run, not the whole system.
What we check and fix
- Crushed, torn or disconnected ducts found and photographed
- Repairs quoted before any work
- Whole runs replaced only when they’re past saving
- Outlet boots, grilles and return-air fittings refitted or replaced
Ducted heating cleaning before an Epping winter
Epping winters are cold and ducted gas heating runs most evenings. The first cold night of the year pushes a summer’s worth of settled dust out through every outlet.
Cleaning before winter clears the ducts, outlets and filter. If the heater is getting on in years, we can arrange a heater service at the same visit.

- Every outlet and grille cleaned
- The full duct run cleaned
- Return-air duct, grille & filter cleaned
- Dust captured by negative-pressure vacuum collection
- Optional sanitise & deodorise
- Damaged or disconnected ducts photographed and explained
- Before & after photos of the work

Frequently Asked Questions
Our ducts have never been cleaned in forty years. Can they still be cleaned?
Yes. Older ducting can usually be cleaned well. If any section is too damaged or brittle, we’ll photograph it and talk you through the options before doing anything.
We’ve just renovated. Should we clean the ducts?
If the outlets weren’t sealed during the work, yes. Plaster and sanding dust is very fine and spreads through the system when the heating runs.
Do you clean homes in the new estates around Epping North and Wollert?
Yes. We clean ducted systems in the newer estates as well as the established streets.
Can you service the heater at the same time?
Yes. We can book a ducted heating service alongside the duct clean so both are done in one visit.
Is duct cleaning worth it in a newer estate home?
Often, yes, though there’s usually less to remove than in an older home. Building dust from nearby construction is the main thing we find. We inspect first and tell you honestly if it can wait.
Can dirty ducts cause a musty smell?
Yes. Dust and debris in the ducts and on the return-air filter hold odours, and damp ducts can grow mould. A whole-system clean removes the build-up; if there’s a moisture problem behind it, we’ll show you.
How often should ducts be cleaned?
Every 1–3 years for most homes — sooner with pets, allergy sufferers, recent renovations or building work nearby.
When do I pay?
After the job is done and you’ve seen the before & after photos. Cash, card or bank transfer.
What if I’m not happy?
Tell us. If something isn’t right, we come back and re-clean — that’s our 100% satisfaction commitment.
Are your technicians insured and police-checked?
Yes. Police-checked technicians, NDIS Worker Screening checks, and full public liability and business insurance.
