Post-war brick homes, units and new townhouses on split blocks: we clean every outlet, the ductwork, the return air and the filter in Chadstone homes, and photograph the before and after.
Post-war streets, changing fast
Chadstone, in the City of Monash, grew after the war with modest brick and weatherboard homes, many with low-pitched roofs. Rows of brick units followed in the 60s and 70s, and townhouses are now going up on split blocks between Warrigal Road and the Monash Freeway.
Low roofs mean tight roof spaces, and tight roof spaces are hard on ducting: runs get squeezed between the ceiling and the rafters, bends are sharp, and access is limited. That shows up as weak airflow to the rooms at the far end of the house.
Heavy traffic on the freeway and the main roads around the shopping centre adds a lot of fine, dark dust to the air, which the return air draws inside.

How Chadstone homes are usually set up
Post-war homes with low roofs
Ducted heating squeezed into a shallow roof space. We clean through the outlets and reach as much of each run as we safely can.
Rows of brick units
Each unit with its own small ducted heater, often installed at the same time and now all the same age.
New townhouses
Ducted reverse cycle in the ceiling, with the return air often tucked into a stairwell bulkhead.
Three things we see a lot in Chadstone
Tight roof spaces
Shallow roofs squash ducting against the rafters, and sharp bends choke airflow to the furthest rooms.
Freeway and main-road dust
Traffic on the Monash Freeway and Warrigal Road puts fine dark dust in the air that settles on filters fast.
Same-age systems in a block
In a row of units, if one system is overdue they usually all are. Owners sometimes book them together.
Signs a Chadstone home is due for a duct clean
- The far bedroom never really warms up In a tight roof, a squashed or sharply bent run is the usual cause.
- Black dust on road-facing sills If the window sills facing the road go dark quickly, the return air is drawing the same dust in.
- Your neighbours in the block have had theirs done Units installed together tend to need cleaning at the same time.
- A stairwell return-air grille full of fluff In townhouses the return air is easy to forget. If it’s grey, the ducts are too.
Same duct. Same angle. One clean.

Duct repair & replacement in Chadstone
Tight roof spaces are the biggest cause of duct problems in Chadstone: runs pressed flat against the rafters, sharp bends that kink, and outlets knocked loose by anyone working up there.
We photograph what we find while cleaning, explain it and quote the fix before any work. Rerouting one squashed run often brings a cold room back to life.
What we check and fix
- Crushed, torn or disconnected ducts found and photographed
- Repairs quoted before any work
- Whole runs replaced only when they’re past saving
- Outlet boots, grilles and return-air fittings refitted or replaced
Ducted heating cleaning before a Chadstone winter
Most Chadstone homes and units heat with ducted gas, and the townhouses with reverse cycle. In every case, the ducts carry whatever has settled in them into the rooms.
A clean before winter clears the outlets, ducts and filter. If the heater is getting on, we can book a service at the same visit.

A whole-system clean — not just the vent covers
In homes with shallow roofs we pay particular attention to the furthest outlets, because squashed runs and sharp bends usually show up there first.
- Free inspection of your system before we start
- Every outlet and grille cleaned
- The full duct run cleaned
- Return-air duct, grille & filter cleaned
- Dust captured by negative-pressure vacuum collection
- Optional sanitise & deodorise
- Damaged or disconnected ducts photographed and explained
- Before & after photos of the work

Frequently Asked Questions
Our roof space is very tight. Can you still clean the ducts?
Yes. We clean through each outlet and reach as much of every run as we safely can. If part of a run is out of reach, we tell you and show you what we could see.
Can several units in our block be done in one visit?
Yes. We can clean a number of units in one visit, photograph each one separately and quote each owner or the owners corporation upfront.
Is freeway dust really getting into our ducts?
Some of it, yes. Fine traffic dust is drawn in through the return air and settles on the filter and in the ducts. A clean and a fresh filter clear it.
Can you clean while we’re at work?
Yes. Arrange access with us and we’ll send before & after photos so you can see the job was done.
Do you clean evaporative and refrigerated cooling ducts too?
Yes. We clean ducted gas heating, evaporative cooling and refrigerated or reverse-cycle systems — the outlets, ductwork and return air — and quote each system upfront.
How is the price worked out?
By the number of outlets, how many systems you have and whether the home is one or two storeys. You get a free, firm quote upfront, there’s no call-out fee, and you pay after the job.
When do I pay?
After the job is done and you’ve seen the before & after photos. Cash, card or bank transfer.
What if I’m not happy?
Tell us. If something isn’t right, we come back and re-clean — that’s our 100% satisfaction commitment.
Are your technicians insured and police-checked?
Yes. Police-checked technicians, NDIS Worker Screening checks, and full public liability and business insurance.
