Brick family homes from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and rentals near the university campuses: we clean Bundoora ducts properly and send before and after photos for owners and landlords.
Long-held homes and busy rentals
Bundoora stretches across three councils — Banyule, Darebin and Whittlesea — with Bundoora Park, La Trobe University and an RMIT campus within its borders. Most streets are lined with brick homes from the 1960s to the 1980s.
Many of those homes have been in the same family for decades and still run their original ducted gas heating. The heater has been serviced, perhaps, but the ducts have rarely been touched, and decades of dust sit in the runs and around the outlets.
Bundoora Park and the leafy streets around it add pollen and leaf litter to the air, and some of it ends up in the return air.

How Bundoora homes are usually ducted
60s to 80s brick homes
Ducted gas heating with floor or ceiling outlets and a central return air. Original systems are common.
Student and family rentals
The same systems under heavier use, with more people and filters that rarely get changed.
Newer townhouses
Ducted reverse cycle in the ceiling, often over two levels.
Three things we see a lot in Bundoora
Original systems, never cleaned
Homes owned for decades often have ducts that have never been touched. The first clean brings out the most.
Heater serviced, ducts forgotten
Many long-held homes have had the heater serviced over the years, but the ducts behind it have rarely been touched.
Parkland pollen
Bundoora Park and the area’s gum trees add pollen and leaf litter to the roof space and the air.
Signs a Bundoora home is due for a duct clean
- A heater that’s been there as long as you have If the system has run for decades without a clean, it’s due.
- A new lease starting Moving in, or getting a rental ready, is the easiest time to start with clean ducts.
- A grey, matted filter If the return-air filter is clogged, the ducts behind it are dusty too.
- Sneezing when the heating runs Pollen and dust blown out of the ducts can set off allergies.
Same duct. Same angle. One clean.

Duct repair & replacement in Bundoora
Original ducting in long-held homes has often been worked around by decades of trades, and rental properties can go years without anyone checking the roof. Crushed runs and loose outlets are common.
We photograph any damage we find, explain it in plain terms for the owner or property manager, and quote the repair before we do it.
What we check and fix
- Crushed, torn or disconnected ducts found and photographed
- Repairs quoted before any work
- Whole runs replaced only when they’re past saving
- Outlet boots, grilles and return-air fittings refitted or replaced
Ducted heating cleaning before a Bundoora winter
Most Bundoora houses heat with ducted gas, and the first cold night of the year sends whatever settled in the ducts over summer through every room.
A clean before winter clears the outlets, ducts and filter. For landlords, it’s a simple way to keep a rental’s heating in good shape.
