FreshDuct respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using our website or engaging our services, you consent to this policy.
1. What we collect
We collect personal information you provide and information necessary to deliver our services, including:
- Contact and job details — name, phone number, email address, service address, and details about your property and systems (for quoting, scheduling and performing the work);
- Booking and payment information — the services requested and payment details (payments are processed by our payment providers; we do not store full card numbers);
- Records of your job — notes, inspection findings, and before/after photos or video of the work; and
- Website data — via cookies and our hosting/analytics we collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring pages, to operate and improve the site.
We collect information directly from you, and sometimes from a person authorised to act for you (for example a property owner, agent, or the person who booked on your behalf).
2. Why we collect and use it
We use your information to: provide quotes and carry out the services you request; schedule appointments and communicate with you about your booking; process payments and manage our accounts, including debt recovery; provide warranty support and service reminders; improve our services and website; and send you updates or offers where you would reasonably expect it or have opted in (you can opt out at any time — see section 6).
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with our technicians and staff to perform the work; with service providers who help us operate (for example scheduling, payments, IT/hosting, email and review platforms), who are required to protect your information; and with others where required or authorised by law. Some providers may store data on servers located overseas; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
4. How we store and protect it
We hold information in secure electronic and (where relevant) physical systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
5. Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or out of date. Contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
6. Marketing and opt-out
If we send you marketing communications, every message includes an easy way to opt out, and you can contact us at any time to stop receiving them.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies to make the site work, remember your preferences and understand how it is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as well.
8. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first at [email protected] and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website.
